My name is Kristy and I am an Australian who loves to travel. I live with my husband, our two young children, a neurotic border collie and a cocker spaniel puppy who enjoys digging and stealing. We used to have fish, but that's a story for another day.

I don't plan on posting too many photos of myself here, this will have to do! |
Being an educator and an advocate is my life's work. I'm a primary school teacher working in an area with a high ratio of students living with poverty and/or trauma. I have also spent over 10 years volunteering with a non-profit organisation that supports survivors of sexual violence. I am a trauma survivor and believe there is a transformative power behind connecting with others, sharing our stories and our life experiences in order to heal and to thrive.
About a year ago I started wondering about the possibility of my daughter being gifted, and since the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, that in turn led me to wonder whether I might also be gifted. I have posted more about that here and here!
Writing is an outlet for me. I'm always thinking... trying to make connections... trying to find meaning. So that's why I'm blogging. I hope that it will help me to understand myself better, and maybe in some way it may also help anyone else on a similar journey. It might also free up some space in my therapist's inbox!
